The CDC, Kaiser Permanente and the Air Force (of course) 'investigated' it around 2006, then launched a coordinated campaign to label patients as 'delusional', also frequently using labels such as 'housewives', 'drug users', and 'uneducated' (probably still that way on Wikipedia.) Treating physicians and researchers were targeted, licenses lost, chat boards infiltrated, media campaigns. Patients have never received acknowledgement or information about their condition.
Meanwhile, they quietly moved all gain-of-function research overseas. Morgellons chat boards were discussing the Ukraine outbreaks more than a decade ago.
