I write mostly to foster courage and lessen isolation and despair among those who share my general understanding of how the world works.

A secondary, still satisfying motivation is to reach people who don’t share those general views but find the writing entertaining.

The core of that worldview is that the most important societal division these days is the Common People v. the Elites, not Democrat v. Republican, rural v. urban, liberal v. conservative or any of the other divide-and-conquer classifications centered within public discourse by the Elites (for obvious, power-preservation reasons).

I’m on Team People. I think a society that values and protects individual human rights, skepticism of government and corporate claims, and dissent from government and corporate oppression is stronger and better than a society that protects and expands the Elites’ ability to control and abuse the People using corporate and state power.

I speak only for myself; my family and friends do not share my political values or views; they have their own.
