SCASD parents lobbying at school board meeting today 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

I still don’t know the names or contact information, or a website or Facebook page for this group of parents. I signed the petition but I’m not yet getting emails from the petition organizers.

The information I get comes through Pennsylvania Coalition for Informed Consent Centre County chapter, and I don’t know how much information the SCASD parent organizers want published (rather than only distributed to their email lists).

I’m posting this in case Bailiwick readers want to go this evening, so you at least know when and where to go.

Also note, the SCASD parent organizers haven’t heard back yet from SCASD about whether the school board meeting will be closed to the public for in-person attendance.

From the SCASD parent email by way of PCIC-Centre County:

We are moving forward with the plan that includes us peacefully gathering outside the Panorama Admin Building [240 Villa Crest Drive, State College PA, 16801] prior to them beginning their meeting. 

1. Arrive at 5:30 pm and plan to stay until the board enters the building and begins the meeting at 7:00 pm

2. Bring signs with short phrases on them that correspond with our goal of masks optional, one rule for all. Signs should be no more than a few words. Think easy to read and big lettering, large font. A few recommendations- "EDUCATE DON'T DISCRIMINATE" "MASKS OPTIONAL, ONE RULE FOR ALL" "UNMASK OUR KIDS" "FORCED MASKING=SEGREGATION/BULLYING" "YOU DON'T WANT TO WEAR A MASK, WHY WOULD THEY?" or come up with your own slogan…
